Chaque année, nous sélectionnons avec soin des espaces extérieurs qui méritent notre attention collective. En les désignant comme « Spotlight », nous mobilisons la communauté locale pour qu'elle s'engage, s'associe à Leave No Trace et ait un impact significatif sur la revitalisation et la protection de ces lieux privilégiés où nous nous détendons, profitons de la compagnie des autres et améliorons notre santé physique, mentale et émotionnelle.

La Capitol Reef Field Station a été sélectionnée comme Spotlight Leave No Trace 2025. L'équipe itinérante Subaru/Leave No Trace sera présente à la Capitol Reef Field Station du 13 au 15 novembre et collaborera avec les hôtes et les partenaires dans le cadre de divers programmes, notamment des projets d'intendance, des ateliers et des activités de sensibilisation de la communauté.

SATURDAY NOVEMBER 15:

Volunteer Stewardship Project, 11:00 AM – 2:00 PM, Fremont River Trail, Capitol Reef National Park (near the Gifford House)

Join Leave No Trace, the Capitol Reef Field Station, and the National Park Service for a fun and rewarding, hands-on volunteer project focused on protecting and maintaining the natural beauty of Capitol Reef National Park. Volunteers will assist with light trail maintenance, trail brushing and related restoration tasks. Volunteers will also get an introduction to Leave No Trace principles, the importance of public land stewardship, and learn how simple actions can help protect our parks for generations to come.

Important information:
– Bring water, snacks, sun protection, and dress for the weather.
– Long pants and closed-toed shoes required.
– Tools & materials provided; please bring work gloves if you have them.
– Work may entail bending, light lifting and a short walk from the meeting spot.
– Participants under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
– Advance sign-up encouraged.
