Boulder, Colorado, is a world-renowned destination for outdoor adventure and community culture, with miles of scenic trails, iconic peaks, and vibrant open spaces. The national Leave No Trace<\/a> organization and Visit Boulder have joined forces to launch a new responsible recreation and sustainability initiative tailored to this unique city. This collaboration empowers visitors and locals to make sustainable choices, whether on the trail, in town, or at home.<\/p>\n

The BoulderWise campaign<\/a> brings together guidance for recreating in Boulder\u2019s open spaces and tips for everyday scenarios that build on the city\u2019s strong conservation ethic and expand everyday stewardship messages. These educational pillars provide clear, actionable guidance that is aligned with Boulder\u2019s deep connections to nature and outdoor recreation. From preparing for outdoor excursions and protecting trails to choosing greener transportation options and reducing waste, the campaign helps individuals take steps to care for the places they love.<\/p>\n

To ensure the messages truly reflect community values, Visit Boulder convened a series of focus groups with local stakeholders. This collaborative process identified the most important responsible recreation and sustainability practices to highlight, ensuring that the final recommendations are both practical and easy to implement. Additional resources are also being developed for the local hospitality industry and for groups hosting meetings, conferences, or gatherings in Boulder.<\/p>\n
